RefWorks Guide

This guide will provide you with a more in-depth look at the New RefWorks bibliographic management tool.

Sharing References with Colleagues

One big benefit of RefWorks is the ability to share with your colleagues. Users can either share individual folders with others or users can share with the entire Georgetown institution. DML strongly recommends caution before sharing with the entire University.

In order to begin the process of sharing single folders with others, go to the left Sharing tab and select "Share a folder". Next, choose the folder you wish to share and enter the email address of the individual.

Select Sharing and choose to share with institution or with specific individual

As you can see from the image above, you have the opportunity to select the level of access the person has to the citations. If you select Read, the user can only read the citations within the folder. If you select Can Annotate the user can read the citations and make notes on different citations but can't change citations. If you select Can Modify the user can read, annotate, and make changes to the citations.

Once finished, select Share Folder. If you have shared the folder by mistake, select Unshare Folder.

select a particular folder and determine level of sharing. Execute share
