This dashboard uses Census data publicly hosted in Google BigQury. We will pull housing cost data for DC, Virginia, and Maryland. BigQuery is Google's cloud platform for hosting and analyzing large datasets. Although BigQuery is a paid service, hosting of public datasets and up to 1TB of queries per month is free for educational and research purposes. You will need to create a project within BigQuery to enable Data Studio to connect to the public datasets. It's best to use your Georgetown-affiliated Google account to set this up. See the documentation from Google for instructions on how to create a new project in your Google Cloud console.
