Welcome to Dahlgren Memorial Library's guide to Emergency Preparedness and Response Guide. This guide is a resource for first responders, health professionals, librarians and others interested in emergency management and disaster preparedness. Most resources listed are freely available to the public, with the exception of print and e-books in the Dahlgren Memorial Library collection.

General Preparedness/Disaster Information

American Red Cross
Provides links to all types of disaster information, training and volunteer opportunities.
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Features emergency preparedness information, training, flood maps and disaster assistance.
Ready.gov
Resources available in multiple languages and covers special concerns such as elders and pets. Provides information on emergency planning for all types of disasters.
Disaster Assistance.gov
Provides information for disaster survivors with about how to apply for assistance, assistance available from various government agencies and locating federal disaster relief centers. Available in English and Spanish.
HHS ASPR TRACIE
The Technical Resources, Assistance Center, and Information Exchange (TRACIE) was created to meet the information and technical assistance needs of regional ASPR staff, healthcare coalitions, healthcare entities, healthcare providers, emergency managers, public health practitioners, and others working in disaster medicine, healthcare system preparedness, and public health emergency preparedness.

National Science Foundation-Disasters

National Terrorism Advisory System
