ISP: Independent Scholarly Project Resources & Services

Starting in 2007, the Independent Scholarly Project became a requirement for all Georgetown School of Medicine Students.

Designed to facilitate participation in research, the project allows students to pursue topics of interest and receive mentorship from current researchers.

Librarians at DML are able to provide extensive research support tailored to your individual project, including:

• Refining your research question & deciding the appropriate study type
• Identifying a mentor
• Performing a thorough literature review
• Organizing your work (through tools like RefWorks)
• Determining appropriate tools & instruments to employ
• Facilitating communication within research teams
• Suggesting funding and research opportunities
