RefWorks Guide

This guide will provide you with a more in-depth look at the New RefWorks bibliographic management tool.

How to Create a Bibliography

After you have retrieved, organized, and managed your needed citations the next step will most likely be to create a bibliography. RefWorks provides access to over 6000 bibliographic styles.

To start the process of creating a bibliography, select the folder of citations you wish to use. Next, select the "quotes" icon from the icons list across the top of the page. From the dropdown menu you will have a few options, select Create Bibliography, the topmost option.

Select Create bibliography from dropdown menu

Next, you will be taken to a list of your resources within that folder organized into a bibliographic format of your choice. If you wish to update or change your format, you may do so by selecting the down arrow next to the active format. In this case the format chosen is APA, but can be changed according to user preference. In order to update the bibliographic style, select the drop-down arrow next to the current style (in this case APA format). From there you will be able to select a recent style or search for your style of choice.

Select or search for Citation Style

Once you have selected the style of your choice and selected the citations you wish to include in your bibliography, select the option to Copy to Clipboard. You can then paste the bibliography into any document.
